28 August - Coliseo Mario “Quijote” Morales in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico.

WBA mini-flyweight world champion Giovanni Segura (25-1, 21 KOs) scored a punishing eighth round KO over previously unbeaten WBO mini-flyweight Iván Calderón (34-1-1, 6 KOs) to unify the 108lb championship.

Alex De Jesus (20-1, 13 KOs) won a six-rounder over José Ángel Román (11-26-5, 5 KOs). De Jesus was furloughed from prison for a few hours to have his first bout since March 2009.

McWilliams Arroyo (4-1, 3 KOs) got back in the win column with a six round unanimous decision over Jovanne Fuentes (2-1, 1 KOs) in a flyweight bout. Scores were 60-54 on all cards.

Bantamweight McJoe Aroyo (5-0, 2 KOs) took a one-sided six round unanimous decision over Sigfredo Medina (3-2, 2 KOs). Scores were 60-54 on all cards.

28 August - Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City

Heavyweight Chazz “The Gentleman” Witherspoon (27-2, 19 KOs) stopped Livin Castillo (16-10, 10 KOs) in round seven. Witherspoon broke it open in the seventh when he dropped Castillo and got the stoppage moments later. Time was 2:21.

Undefeated super middleweight Farah Ennis (16-0, 10 KOs) scored a third round KO over Reggie Pena (6-4, 1 KO). Ennis did a lot of bodywork and Pena sank to a knee at 1:56 after a right to the body.

28 August - Saturday night at the Club Metropolis in Montreal

Light welterweight Hammerin’ Hank Lundy (19-1, 8 KOs) took a workmanlike ten round unanimous decision Omri Lowther (14-2, 10 KOs) on Saturday night at the Club Metropolis in Montreal. Scores were 98-92, 100-90, 100-90.

Nicholson Poulard (15-3 7KO) continued where his brother Jean Pascal left off, scoring an impressive TKO victory at 2:33 of the 3rd round over Alfredo Contreras (11-9-1) of Mexico. Poulard landed two monster right hands scoring a pair of knockdowns and ending the fight.

Kevin Bizier moved to 12-0 as Leonardo Rojas did not answer the bell for the 4th round.

Patrick Tessier defeated Francis Lafreniere in a rematch of their April contest that ended in a draw. All three scorecards read 39-37 for the super-middleweight who raises his record to 4-11-1

Interim WBA World light welterweight champion Marcos Maidana (29-1, 27 KOs) retained his title over former world champion DeMarcus ‘Chop Chop’ Corley (37-14-1, 22 KOs) by way of a very tough unanimous decision.

In the eight-round main event, Griffin (23-6-2), ranked 10th by the International Boxing Federation, posted a unanimous decision over Billy Bailey (10-10) of Bakersfield. Judges’ scores were 79-73, 78-74, 78-74.

Gonzales (13-0) halted Byron Tyson (9-2-2) of Los Angeles via a severe eye cut at 1:59 in the third round. It was Gonzales’ 10th knockout win in the scheduled six-rounder.

28 August - Saturday night at Independence Square, Kiev, Ukraine

Former WBA bantamweight champion Wladimir Sidorenko (22-2-2, 7 KOs) returned with a unanimous decision win over Mbwana Matumla (19-5, 11 KOs) for the vacant WBC International Silver super flyweight title.

The main undercard event, a featherweight rematch between Ukrainians Timur Akhundov (11-2-1, 4 KOs) and Mamed Yadgarov (15-5-1, 9 KOs), was a real war for all ten rounds. The decision of the judges was a shock. One gave it to Akhundov, one gave it to Yadgarov, and the third scored it a draw!

Unbeaten cruiserweight Dmytro Kucher (10-0, 8 KOs) took an unanimous decision over American journeyman Joey Vegas (11-6-1, 4 KOs).

Russian heavyweight Nikolay Israelyan (6-0, 4 KOs) defeated Paata Berikashvili (7-9-1, 5 KOs) by unanimous decision.

27 August - Westin Peachtree Plaza hotel - Atlanta 

WBC International lightweight champ -  Zahir Raheem (31-3 18KO) defeated Mexican veteran Roberto Valenzuela (53-54 43KO) by KO at 2:56 of round two.

In the co-main event, Paul “The Truth” Delgado (24-9-1 4 KO) defeated Chad Greenleaf of West Virginia. All three judges unanimously scored it for Delgado 60-53 twice, 64-54

27 August - Dover Downs Hotel & Casino in Dover, Delaware.

Jose Angel “Silver Boy” Rodriguez, of New York, NY won the vacant IBF North American middleweight belt with a hard-fought twelve round unanimous decision over Russell “Spiderman” Jordan, of Rochester.

Amir “Hardcore” Mansour, of Penns Grove, NJ brutally stopped Samuel “Showtime” Brown, of Fort Campbell, KY in the second round of a scheduled six round heavyweight contest.

“Mighty” Mike Tiberi, stopped Ray “Ray Ray” Cunningham, at 2:43 of the opening round of a scheduled six round super middleweight bout.

Khalil Farah, was disqualified for excessive holding early in round four of a scheduled six round cruiserweight bout against Caputo Smith.

“Rockin” Ryan Belasco, 137, of Wilmington, DE took every round against unwilling southpaw Devarise Crayton, 139, of Orlando, FL in a six round lightweight bout. All three judges favored Belasco by 60-54 scores.

“Queen” Ronica Jeffrey, 128, of Brooklyn, NY kept her unbeaten streak alive with a split-decision win over difficult southpaw Ashleigh Curry, 130, of St. Joseph, MO in a four round women’s junior lightweight bout.
