Chris Martin -- pulled off an upset victory after he clearly out boxed the more heralded Chris Avalos over ten rounds to gain a split decision at The Grand Casino in Hinckley, Minnesota.

In the co-feature, Lateef Kayode (13-0, 12 KOs), knocked out Alfredo Escalera, Jr (18-3-1, 12 KOs), to remain undefeated at the Grand Casino Hinckley in Hinckley, Minn.

Middleweight Andy Kolle (22-2, 16 KOs) n 91 defeated southpaw Daryl Salmon (16-4, 4 KOs) in 91 seconds.

Jr middleweight Matt Vanda (43-11, 23 KOs) scored a third round TKO over Jose Medina (15-20, 11 KOs). Time was 2:57.

Unbeaten welterweight Michael Anderson moved to 7-0-1, 5 KOs with a third round stoppage of Hector Orozco (3-6, 0 KOs).

Heavyweight Maurice “Sugar Moe” Harris (24-14-2, 10 KOs) upset IBF #15 rated Nagy Aguilera (16-4, 11 KOs), taking a twelve round unanimous decision during the non-televised portion of Friday night’s card at the Grand Casino in Hinkley, Minnesota. Aguilera was the aggressor, but Harris outboxed him down the stretch to claim a 117-111, 117-111, 115-113 win and the vacant USBA title.

Breidis Prescott used a ninth round knockdown en route to a ten round unanimous decision over hard punching journeyman Harrison Cuello in a ten round Jr. Welterweight bout at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago.

Wilberth “Hurricane” Uicab (29-5-1, 18 KOs) retained his NABF flyweight title when William de Sousa (15-13-1, 13 KOs) didn’t come out for round three on Friday night at the Gimnasio Sport City in Cancún, Quintana Roo, Mexico. Official time was :10 of round three. Next up for Uicab is a clash for the WBC Silver title against Edrin Dapudong on September 17 in Cancun.

Sergio “Yeyo” Thompson (17-1, 16 KOs) kept his Mundo Hispano featherweight belt with an eighth round TKO over Lizardo “Pajarito” Moreno (37-9-2, 28 KOs).

Hot super flyweight prospect Carlos “Príncipe” Cuadras scored a fifth round TKO over José “Pepe” Barrero to move to 17-0 with 15 KOs. Berrero falls to 4-3-2.

Super featherweight Antonio “Ollita” Chuc (8-7, 2 KOs) defeated Ángel “Chacha” Bautista (1-2-1, 0 KOs) by split decision in an eight rounds.

Holly Holm (female boxing) -- From the Hard Rock of Albuquerque: In the shortest fight of her career, Holly Holm (28-1-3, 8 KOs) scored a first round TKO over Jaime Clampitt (21-4-1, 7 KOs), of Canada/Rhode Island.

Randy “Savage” Arrellin (5-3, 4 KOs) scored a spectacular knockout defeating Julio Chavez (6-5, 2 KOs), in1:28 of round six.

Undercard: Colorado’s John Ryan Grimaldo (5-0, 4 KOs) stopped Carlos “El Gallo” Sanchez (5-2, 2 KOs). Stoppage at 1:30 of round five.

Celina Salazar (3-0-1) of San Antonio, Texas and Albuquerque’s Nohime Dennison (4-1-1) fought to a draw.

Yordan Hernandez Perez (1-0, 1 KO) won his pro debut with a third round TKO (1:46) of MMA fighter Joshua Montoya (0-1).

Junior featherweight Alex Becerra (20-8, 9 KOs) cruised to a six round unanimous decision over Francisco Dominguez (8-7, 2 KOs).
