Lightweight Fidel Maldonado (12-0, 10 KOs) kept his unbeaten record by defeating Erick Cruz (13-8-3, 13 KOs) in a close eight round desecion. Maldonado dropped Cruz in round one. The fight was dynamic but Maldonado had the upper hand. Final scores werw 77-74 and 76-75 twice. With the win, Maldonado claimed the vacant WBC Youth silver belt.

Undefeated super middleweight Edwin "La Bomba" Rodriguez won a 10-round decision last night (Friday), sweeping every round on all three judges' scorecard, against previously unbeaten Will "Power" Rosinsky in the main event. Rodriguez improved his pro record to 20-0 (14 KOs), while the rugged Rosinsky, of Queens (NY), dropped to 14-1 (8 KOs).
