Bernard Hopkins vs Chad Dawson - WBC light heavyweight champion Bernard Hopkins (52-6-2, 32 KOs) lost his title against Chad Dawson (31-1, 18 KOs) in a highly controversial decision - The bout ended when in round two when the 29-year-old Dawson hurled the 46-year-old boxing legend Hopkins to the deck and Hopkins injured a shoulder. Referee Pat Russell ruled there was no foul, therefore the California Commission ruled it a TKO win for Dawson. After the fight Dawson accused Hopkins of faking the injury. Dawson said he wants to finish his business with Jean Pascal and will not give Hopkins a rematch.

Mariana “La Barbie” Juarez successfully retained her WBC world flyweight title by technical knockout in four rounds against Uruguayan Gabriela Bouvier The Mexican star defended her belt with powerful right hand uppercuts, which exploded in the face of Bouvier. In the third round, the Uruguayan and South American champion already had a swollen left eye.

WBO light heavyweight champion Nathan Cleverly (23-0, 11 KOs) won a twelve round majority decision over previously unbeaten Tony Bellew (16-1, 10 KOs). In was a very good action fight and the bout seemed very close entering the championship rounds Cleverly had more in the final rounds and got his win by scores of 114-114, 116-113, 117-112.

WBO #4/WBA #14 cruiserweight and local favorite BJ “El Peligroso” Flores (26-1-1, 16 KOs) pounded out a ten round unanimous decision over Paul Jennette (11-4-1, 8 KOs). Flores beat the 43-year-old Jennette to the punch all night in winning a 100-90 verdict on all cards.
