Morales Vs Limond

“Terrible” Morales Vs “Hands of Steel” Limond - Five-time world champion in three different weight classes, Erik “Terrible” Morales, continues his heralded comeback September 11 headlining the “Mexican Fiesta” pay-per-view show live from Mexico City. Morales (49-6, 34 KOs), rated No. 2 by the World Boxing Council, will also continue a tradition by fighting outdoors in the famous Plaza de Toros bull ring against WBU champion Willie “Hands of Steel” Limond (33-2, 8 KOs) for the vacant WBC Diamond Super Lightweight title.
Integrated Sports Media president Doug Jacobs said. “It’s a privilege for Integrated Sports Media to air this living legend’s continued comeback. The rest of the card is loaded with interesting fights that insure an entertaining night of boxing.”
Three-division world champion Morales (49-6, 34 KOs), who returned this past March 27, after 2 ½ years of inactivity, defeating former WBA lightweight titlist Jose “Jicaras” Alfaro (23-6, 20 KOs) by a 12-round decision for the WBC Intercontinental welterweight crown, is on a mission to become the first Mexican to capture world titles in four different weight classes.
Morales goes for his 50th career win in the 12-round main event on “Mexican Fiesta” against WBU lightweight champion Willie “Hands of Steel” Limond (33-2, 8 KOs), of Scotland, for the vacant WBC Diamond Super Lightweight Championship.
One of the most revered Mexican fighters of all-time, Morales’ list of victims over the years reads like a Who’s Who list of boxing stars: Manny Pacquiao, Marco Antonio Barrera, Pauli Ayala, Wayne McCullough, Junior Jones, Carlos Hernandez, Jesus Chavez, Guty Espada, Jr. (twice), Daniel Zaragoza and Kevin Kelly.
Morales - “I’m not doing this for economic reasons. I’m not doing this for ego. I just want to come back and do it for the joy of boxing. Reporters want to write. The camera guys want to shoot. Because that’s what you do and that’s what you do best. Fighting is what I do best. Five years as an amateur, 16 years as a professional – this is what I do. Now I want to do it and enjoy it and do it my way."
