UFC -- Despite published online reports saying the UFC will head to Chicago in November, this is not the case. 

This was confirmed by MMA Fighting interviewing UFC vice president of regulatory affairs Marc Ratner, who said those reports are not accurate and the promotion has not yet decided on a city or a venue for an expected Nov. 20 pay-per-view card.

UFC -- Demian Maia (12-2 MMA, 6-2 UFC) is set to face Mario Miranda (10-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) on the main card, and Dan Miller (11-4 MMA, 3-3 UFC) officially meets John Salter (5-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) on the preliminary card of this month's UFC 118 event.

Miller, meanwhile, replaces Phil Baroni (13-12 MMA, 3-6 UFC), who suffered a collarbone injury, on the card.

The UFC recently made both fights official for UFC 118, which takes place Aug. 28 at the TD Garden in Boston. The night's main card airs on pay-per-view, and two preliminary-card bouts air on Spike TV. Miller vs. Salter, though, is slated for the untelevised preliminary card.

Strikeforce -- Scott Smith is one of the more popular middleweights in Strikeforce, but according to his manager Mike Roberts, "Hands of Steel's" days of fighting at 185 may be on the verge of coming to end, at least for now.

Roberts said on Monday's edition of The MMA Hour that Smith, who most recently lost to Cung Le in June via second round KO, is seriously considering dropping down to welterweight.

Strikeforce -- The tenth installment of Strikeforce Challengers is set for this Friday night (Aug. 13) at the Dodge Theater in Phoenix, Arizona.. The five-fight main card will air live on the premium cable channel Showtime beginning at 11 p.m. ET on fight night.

Joe "Diesel" Riggs and Louis "Handgunz" Taylor will meet in a 182-pound catchweight bout in the night's main event.

However, the one-night, four-women welterweight tournament to decide the promotion's next number one contender will receive most of the attention on the evening as Miesha "Takedown" Tate, Carina "Beauty But The Beast" Damm, Hitomi "Girlfight Monster" Akano, and Maiju "Maki" Kujala collide for the right to face the winner between champion Sarah Kaufman and current top contender Marloes Coenen at a future date

World Victory Road -- Four-time BJJ World Cup Champion Leonardo Santos will be making his return to the Sengoku ring against the newly recruited "Sengoku training player" Sotaro Yamada at SRC 14 on August 22nd World Victory Road announced Monday.

Santos, a Nova Uniao black belt, last fought in Sengoku back in March where he choked out former middleweight and welterweight King of Pancrase Kiuma Kunioku in the first round.

Bellator Fighting Championships Signs Featherweight Prospect Kenny ‘The Tooth Fairy’ Foster -- Bellator Fighting Championships officially announced today the signing of New York native Kenny "The Tooth Fairy" Foster to its fast growing list of up-and-coming fighters. Foster joins the promotion with an impressive 7-2 professional record, including a six fight win streak which he compiled from July 2009 to March 2010.

Bellator -- The official weigh in event for Bellator 24, which signals the start of season three for the upstart promotion, today (Aug. 11, 2010) took place at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.

All 14 fighters set to compete on the card, including Bellator Middleweight Champion Hector Lombard and perhaps the top pound-for-pound female fighter on the planet, Megumi Fuji, have all been given the green light to throwdown tomorrow night in the "Sunshine State."

WEC -- Former WEC featherweight champion Mike Brown's road back to the title begins again soon.

Brown, who looks to rebound from a 1-2 skid, is slated to face Cole Province at WEC 51.

Jens “Little Evil” Pulver -- In what could be the final fight of his often electrifying MMA career, former UFC lightweight champion Jens “Little Evil” Pulver finds himself at the crossroads for his August 14th on the “War on the Mainland” card, taking on upset-minded Diego “El Nino” Garijo in a Special Lightweight Attraction, live on Pay-Per-View from Bren Events Center in Irvine, California.

Rural Rumble 2010 on August 28th

2010 RENO – The City of Fallon, NV and Let’s Get It On Promotions are pleased to present Rural Rumble 2010 on August 28th. This is the third installment of the annual professional boxing and MMA event.

Headlining the show will be top 10 world-ranked light-heavyweight contender and current USBA boxing champion Otis “Triple OG” Griffin (22-6, 9 KOs) facing off against tough journeyman, Billy “The Billy Goat” Bailey (10-9, 4 KOs).

Undefeated middleweight prospect Brandon “Flawless” Gonzales and fan-favorite lightweight, “Lightning” Lonnie Smith (10-2-2, 7 KOs), are also slated to fight on the Rural Rumble 2010 card in separate bouts.

The MMA portion of the show will feature top professional talent from Northern Nevada and Northern California.

In the feature MMA bout, undefeated Jerel Clark (3-0) from Reno, NV, will be facing off against Adam Albright (3-1) from San Jose.

M-1 Selection 2010 -- Americas Finals tournament bouts are announced; the live event takes place Saturday, September 18th, 2010 at Bally's Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
