Joey Gilbert Vs Kassim ‘The Dream’ Ouma

Joey Gilbert (20-2, 15 KOs) of Reno, Nevada will meet former world champion - Kassim ‘The Dream’ Ouma (26-7-1, 16 KOs) on September 25. The bout is scheduled for 10 rounds and the NABA middleweight title. The location is the  Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada. This is a make or break fight for both fighters with the winner likely to gain a world ranking which would make him legible to fight for a world title.

Seconds Out – Fight Card, September 3

Promoter Andre Kerr of Seconds Out Promotions has announced that there will be nine fights on his action packed bill scheduled to take place at the Turfontein Racecourse near Johannesburg on Friday September 3.

In the main event the veteran Pius Dipheko from Kagiso, Gauteng faces the unbeaten prospect Bethuel Ushona of Nambia in a lightweight bout scheduled for ten rounds.

Former Olympian and South African junior heavyweight champion Danie Venter has his second fight on the comeback trail after an absence of more that three years when he meets Norman Slabani in a heavyweight contest scheduled for six rounds.

Former South African and World Boxing Foundation junior featherweight champion Oscar Chauke will also be in action against Abraham Ndaendapo from Namibia.

Other bouts; Light heavyweight, 6 rounds: Sting Gundarela v Ronnie Lategan; Junior welterweight, 6 rounds: Kyle Bothma v Jeremiah Joshua; Light heavyweight, 6 rounds: Rudolph Venter v Rudy Bruwer.

Undefeated jr welterweight Chris Algieri (10-0, 5 KOs) takes on journeyman Martin Tucker (7-6, 3 KOs) in an eight round contest headlining a September 16th show at New York City’s famous and luxurious Capitale located in downtown Manhattan.

Floyd Mayweather Jr

According to Robin Leach, an English celebrity who became famous for hosting the television program 'Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous,' Floyd Mayweather Jr. plans to announce his next fight in the near future. Over the weekend, Mayweather and Leach spent some time together at the Del Mar Racetrack just north of San Diego in Del Mar.

In Leach's latest column, which is syndicated on several websites, he wrote that Mayweather told him that an announcement would made very soon.

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr confirms challange

WBC silver middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. made a recent appearance on Mexican television and restated a challenge that was reported on Boxing Scene.com a few weeks ago. Chavez said he would like a showdown with fellow Mexican Saul "Canelo" Alvarez and he wants to get payback against the man who beat his father twice. Chavez Jr made it clear that it is Alvarez who needs him and not the other way around.

Promising welterweight - Russian boxer welterweight (up to 63,5 kg) Denis Shafikov will have his next fight on September 4 in Helsinki (Finland). Shafikova's opponent in an eight round match will be Peter Semo from Uganda.
